Supported by Jersey Electricity
Inspiring the next generation
Through a range of activities including 'Rockpool Rambles', 'Bug Safaris' and 'Woodland Wonders', children and adults alike are invited to discover and learn about the unique flora and fauna that inhabit our island, plus the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.
Memorable and fun
We make sure to engage participants' creative and problem solving skills, in order to learn about the natural world in a way that is both memorable and fun.
With the generous support of Jersey Electricity, these events are offered to our members throughout the school holidays to children and their families. During term-time a varied programme of events and guided sessions are also offered to schools to support their curriculum.
It is hoped that the Trust’s education programme will inspire future generations to love and help preserve the wonderful environment in which we live.

Family activities
The National Trust for Jersey’s exciting education programme offers a variety of events and opportunities to our members throughout the year for the young naturalists of tomorrow to discover and learn about Jersey’s natural and historic environment.
Regular sessions include 'Woodland Wonders', 'Bug Safaris', 'Shark Egg Hunts' and 'Rockpool Rambles'. In these workshops, children learn about woodland and coastal ecosystems, as well as the concept of biodiversity and why this is so important.
Grab your binoculars, pull on your wellies and start exploring!
Schools and Clubs
The National Trust for Jersey is perfectly placed to give schools the opportunity to make this link in their teaching and learning.
We run several educational workshops and organise 'Waste free Wednesdays' with schools where children learn about the importance of recycling and reusing.

The new science curriculum for primary schools states that:
…pupils should experience and observe phenomena, looking more closely at the natural world around them
…most of the learning about science should be done through the use of first-hand practical experiences.
